Concert Review: Les Savy Fav - (Randall’s Island 10/6)

Performing perhaps the most energetic set of what I am now calling “Arcade Fest 2007″, Les Savy simply captivated the crowd with a musically powerful and equally crazy set. Eccentric front man Tim Harrington performed his usual onstage antics - throwing out “presents” before the band’s set and making frequent costume changes during it.
But most importantly, Les Savy Fav exhibited their strong musicianship and ability to put on an energetic and engaging show even when playing to the likes of more than 10,000 on-lookers.
The set was composed mostly of songs of their newest album Let’s Stay Friends. Highlights included “The Year Before 2000″, “The The Equestrian”, and “The Sweet Descends”.
Overall, Les Savy Fav put on an awesome performance. All my expectations were easily fulfilled and I definitely was quite content by the end of their set.
