Watch: The continued struggles of Pete Doherty

In the last 24 hours, Babyshambles’ front man Pete Doherty has experienced both the good and the bad. And ultimately, it looks like the bad has again won…

Maybe it would be best to start with the good news. Babyshambles is out with a new video for “You Talk,” the second single off of their new album Shotter’s Nation.http://youtube.com/watch?v=wrIAjeRYZhg&rel

And now the bad news. After weeks of progress in Doherty’s attempt to overcome his longtime drug addiction problem, the 28 year old singer has had a relapse. Details from NME:

Babyshambles’ frontman Pete Doherty has been filmed taking heroin in his Wiltshire home on Friday (November 2).

The Sun newspaper has posted video footage, taken on a cameraphone, on their website.

In the video, Doherty crouches on the floor of his home the morning after the MTV Europe Music Awards, holding a needle in his mouth.

He then prepares a dose of heroin on a spoon and injects himself.

If you can handle the grizzly footage, you can watch it here.

Doherty has admitted that the video is indeed real and plans on returning to rehab immediately. He has also issued an apology to all his fans

Even if you don’t like the guy or have any remorse for drug addicts, you have to feeling for Doherty a bit. It’s obvious the guy is trying to get his life back in order. But like all addicts, keeping clean isn’t the easiest of tasks. I just hope that one day he will be able to overcome all his troubles and use his unbelievable talents to their full potential.
