Radiohead signs with ATO; announces release dates…

Though not much of a surprise anymore, Radiohead has officially now they have signed with Dave Matthews owned ATO Records. ATO is primarily considered an indie label, which represents the likes of Gomez, My Morning Jacket, and Ben Kweller. The signing obviously signals the bands continued commitment to stay away from the major labels.

More details from Billboard:

The album, to be released on the band’s own TBD Records imprint, will arrive Jan. 1, a day after being issued in the United Kindgdom by XL Recordings…

And although no official relationship with the band was announced beforehand, ATO has been working the Radiohead tracks “Bodysnatchers” and “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” to U.S. radio for the past couple of weeks.

In other words, Radiohead’s new label, simply known as TBD, will release the band’s seventh LP via ATO Records. Kind of confusing, but all you really need to know is that TBD will be an off-shoot of ATO.
