Weezer announces release date of next album
Weezer has announced the release date of their upcoming new album. Their yet to be named sixth album will be released on April 22, 2008. Details from bassist Scott Shriner posted on Weezer’s official site:

* A Message from Weezer *
“We’ve finished.
Album 6 is getting ready for mixing and I have never been so excited about a project in my life. Weezer fans truly have something to look forward to. The entire band has accomplished some of its most challenging goals as a group and as individuals. It’s all coming together on this album.
To sum it up, at the beginning of the recording each member asked himself “what do you want out of this session?” The answer lies ahead.
-Scott Shriner”
While not much else is known regarding the follow up of 2006’s very disappointing Make Believe, front man Rivers Cuomo has indicated the LP will be much more experimental and unique compared to past Weezer releases.
I’m not sure whether to be excited for this… After all, Make Believe was such a let down after so much anticipation…
