Rancid’s plans in 2008?
Rancid have been somewhat MIA since touring in the summer and fall of 2006. Yes, frontman Tim Armstrong released a solo album. But their upcoming seventh album, now scheduled for release sometime in 2008, has already been delayed and little if anything is known about it. Plus, they have no upcoming performances scheduled in the foreseeable future.
Well that was until today. Punknews.org is reporting that the band will headline Japan’s Punk Spring festival in April 2008. If this holds true, it could be assumed that the band plans on finishing their album sometime early next year and then may embark on a tour come the Spring and Summer.
This is just all speculation on my part. But then again, new album = tour and vice versa. So we’ll see…
