Pete Doherty wants to play U.S.
Pete Doherty and Babyshambles are wrapping up their current U.K. tour. Apparently, Doherty now has his eyes set on the U.S.:

Rocker Pete Doherty is trying to prove to American politicians he’s good for the economy - because it’s the only way he can tour there.
The Babyshambles star’s drug issues and legal woes mean getting a U.S. work visa is almost an impossibility - but he still thinks there is still a way to tour in America.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “I think they can overlook certain things if you can prove that you’re going to make the economy a few bucks.”
I’m rooting for the guy. I’d love to see him get a shot at a U.S. tour. If he does somehow convince U.S. authorities to give him a Visa, I would expect several summer festival sets… Plus, he’s trying so give him credit…
If you’re unsure on the whole thing, check out these videos from recent Babyshambles’ performance :

i would love to see pete over here in american. he is extremely talented and his lyrics are so poetic and refreshing. he has such a musical voice and the babyshambles music style is different from everything else that is popular now!
