#38 – Ben Lee – Ripe

Ben Lee is a music superstar in Australia, a true testament to the great music tastes of the citizens of that fine country. Ripe is Lee’s sixth solo album and is just another example of the man’s ability to make fun and catchy pop music. It’s a simple, but smart album with solid lyrics and a Ben Folds meets Justin Timberlake sound. My only gripe is the somewhat surplus of love songs. Highlights include the beautiful duet with Many Moore in “Birds and Bees” and “Numb”.
