Since they first hit the Boston music scene in 1996, the Dropkick Murphys have been constantly evolving their sound. They have essentially transformed from a small street punk band to a world acclaimed, full fledge rock ‘n roll group. Sure 2007’s The Meanest of Times still features the band’s trademark Irish sounds, but more than anything, the album is a collection of catchy rock anthems that revival today’s best. But they are also so unique in their own right. What other band uses accordions and bagpipes when creating a punk rock album? Album highlights include “The State of Massachusetts” and the album’s best punk piece “Tomorrow’s Industry”.
