2007’s Top 50 Albums: #20 - The Reminder

#20 - Feist - The Reminder

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m one of those people who absolutely adores “1234″ and even after 100+ listens, I’m not at all sick of it. (Unlike others?) But it’s not because of it’s unbelievable catchy nature. It’s that the song exemplifies everything I enjoy about Feist - her fun lyrics, her astonishing voice, and her ability to create some of the most pleasant music around. The Reminder is just the latest gem in Leslie Feist’s musical career. And it’s as solid as any of her previous works and yes, I do include everything she has done with Broken Social Scene in that category. The Reminder is how a pop album should be - it’s sweet, passionate, and showcases the vocals and song-writing of one of today’s great musical geniuses.
