Jack White works on new material
Jack White recently revealed to The Seattle Times that he is currently working on three different albums. Speaking in regard to the recent cancellation of several White Stripes tour dates, White said:
“Half of me was glad because I have three other records I’m working on, and I didn’t have any time to work on them, and I was really getting worried that I might have to not do these things I wanted to do because of the touring.”
White says he’s not at liberty to name his current projects, but he’s not talking about the long-rumored solo album (”I don’t know, I haven’t gotten there yet”), nor about the Raconteurs, his successful band with singer Brendan Benson, whose second album is half finished and should come out next year, with a tour to follow.
This is certainly interesting. The Raconteurs album is expected to be released sometime in 2008. But if he’s not talking about that, then what is Mr. White working on? Maybe a Hank Williams cover album?
