Led Zeppelin to play Glastonbury?

As if the whole Led Zeppelin reunion tour isn’t complicated enough, there is now word that the legendary band will kick off a 18 month world tour at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts (June 27-29, 2008).

According to The Daily Express, a source close to the band has revealed that an 18-month tour is being planned, following the success of their sell-out reunion show at the O2 Arena in London.

It will apparently start with a headline set at Glastonbury after Robert Plant has finished touring with American country star Alison Krauss.

What does this mean for Bonnaroo 2008? Well if the rumors are true, probably no Led Zeppelin since Plant and Krauss are already confirmed for the festival. And I’m beginning to think it very well may be true. After all, the band did inspire the creation of Glastonbury.
