From Gosling to Grunge

First it was James McAvoy (Atonement) and now Ryan Gosling (The Notebook, Half Nelson) is in the cards to play the late frontman of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. There’s even casting ideas for his famed spouse.

Kirsten Dunst was rumoured to be in the frame, but Courtney really admires Scarlett and has already sent the contract out for her to sign. Courtney even copied Scarlett’s sleek blonde movie look when she was in London for the Fashion Rocks party last year.

She wants the best actors to portray them – she will be on set all the time giving Scarlett and Ryan advice on what it was like being one part of the most notorious couples since Sid and Nancy. It will be explosive.

The film will take much of it’s source material from Charles R. Cross’ biography, Heavier Than Heaven, with Courtney Love as Executive Producer (God, help us all!). This would be, technically, the third film based on Cobain, following Gus Van Sant’s ludicrous Last Days and most recently, the documentary Kurt Cobain: About A Son, which is actually narrated by the legend himself.

Personally, my pick would be Joe Anderson (Across the Universe).
