N.E.R.D. have plans for 2008
After an extended split hiatus, Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D. are returning with a
bang. The hip-hop group’s third album, cleverly titled N*R*3*D, is set for release in the Spring.
“This [new] album took a few years to make in terms of … collecting the right records for it.
“I just was waiting for the right sounds,” he later added. “Creating [music] at the keyboard is like going fishing. You fish for it every day. And you either get it or you don’t get it. It works several different ways: sometimes I sit down and just make something and it’s appropriate for it, sometimes I do that and it’s not appropriate. And sometimes I have to wait. What I usually do with the N.E.R.D. albums is we wait a lot.”

The group currently only have two confirmed tour dates, Isle of Wright and SXSW, though more dates should come as the album release approaches.

when did the album dropp?
N.E.R.D. is the best band ive heard. fly or die was my favorite.
and “in search of” there first album i still listen to this day. i cant wait intil the next nerd album come out
Ok…I loved the first nerd album. Probably in my top 10 for all time. 2nd album was poor…this first single…is ok. It sounds like Pharrell continuing trying to push himself as a rapper. The Neptunes and Pharrell sounded much better when he was singing and they were concentrating on production. I also noticed that the production on the first album was fantastic. Clean and crisp (on the re-release not the original) but still retained enough of an edge to not sound watered down. The 2nd album…was bland…no edge, no grit, no texture. It was like trying to run on ice, you never get your footing. I would like nothing better then to see nerd regain their winning style and grit from the first album. I just hope the guys aren’t afraid to get dirty this time around and aren’t obsessed with the “ice” that has made them lose their way.
pretty lame.
