We’re currently in that “in between” time period. The Coachella lineup announcement has come and gone (minus a few late additions). Now we’re turn our attention to Bonnaroo, expected to be announced next week, and Sasquatch!, though it’s announcement probably won’t come until the end of February. But regardless, there is still an influx of related news and rumors.
European festival fans were met with some pretty big news today…
Virtual Festivals has learnt that Neil Diamond and Leonard Cohen will both play on the final day of Glastonbury Festival 2008.
Neil Diamond will play the prestigious Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid Stage, according to a reliable music industry source.
It is also believed that Leonard Cohen will play on Sunday’s bill, possibly headlining the Jazz World to close the festival. It would be the Canadian singer/songwriter’s first UK show in more than 15 years.
Other current Glastonbury confirmations include British Sea Power, Solomon Burke, and Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs. Jay-Z and Eric Clapton have been rumored as headliners. Check out EFestivals for a full list.
Back in the U.S., we have added a bunch of SXSW confirmations to our Outlook page today. Among note: Sun Kill Moon, Destroyer, Peter Morn, and Magic Magic.
What else?
- We can safely say that the rumored All Points West lineup that has been floating around today is indeed a fake. Why? Well, aside the facts My Bloody Valentine will be in Europe in early August and Jack Johnson is nowhere to be found, why would Portishead agree to be a sub-headliner after headlining Goldenvoice’s other festival?
- The Chattahippe Music Festival has begun making lineup announcement…
- Mountain Jam 2008
We’re constantly updated our Outlook page with the latest news and rumors so please continue to stop by there. Also, regarding the requests to add ACL, Vegoose, and Voodoo to the page, we will! Don’t worry! But we’re waiting for more info…
