I spot a “Bonnaroo” clue!

By Alex Young on February 4th, 2008 in Festival News/Rumor, News

The 2008 Bonnaroo lineup announcement is coming. Probably as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. Adding to the excitement and anticipation was a new round of clues from Bonnaroo Radio.

Updated with more clues…

Clue #11: “Message board chatter? Yes it does matter. We hear your song requests. So Listen High Listen Low Dont Look Too Hard This Is New Radio Bonnaroo”

Clue #12: “Charlie’s imaginary band will not be playing and what he wrote on his hand the last few things he was not saying.”

Clue #13: “The Walrus ain’t Paul”

Clue #14: ?

Clue #15: “What rhymes with orange?”

Clue #16: “Arizona in Manchester”

Clue #17: “What is in the dessert isn’t”

Thanks to the folks at Inforoo for keeping track.

In case you were wondering, Daft Punk’s “Low of the Hour” and Ween’s “High Hour” played right after clue #11. Daft Punk reportedly will be spending most of their in the studio in 2008 so perhaps this means Ween will be at the Roo?

Clue #12??? I’m stumped. A lot of people are thinking Charlie’s Band

Clue #13 could pertain to a lot of things. John Legend? Ringo Starr? U2!?!?

Clue #14? What rhymes with orange…um…nothing?

  • “there’s more than one manchester” is likely referring to

    Manchester Orchestra

They played last year in a small tent (had a good turnout), have been constantly touring, and are releasing new music…

  • 14 is probably refering to ?uestlove, i.e. the Roots.
I think the church thing might be Arcade Fire or maybe Sufjan Stevens, who is a devout Christian and has a massive band. I’m kinda rethinking the LOST thing though…For anyone who doesn’t know , In the last episode last season, Charlie wrote the words NOT PENNY’S BOAT on his hand, but couldn’t say is because he was drowning. Maybe that’ll help someone who is better at riddles.

  • Super Furry Animals aren’t from Blorenge. They’re from Cardiff. It would be sweet if they were there though. I was thinking Oasis from that LOST reference too. However, the Verve is playing Coachella, so that might be a more likely Manchester reference. Also dessert is not desert, dessert=ice cream desert=sand.

  • My turn to make the biggest stretch yet, but all I can think of:

Clue #11 is the Outlaws. their song high grass low tides?

  • Clue #12: Could be Oasis. Charlie from Lost had made a list of 5 things and it was in his pocket when drowned. One of those five things was a flashback scene (http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Charlie%27s_list) to him playing “wonderwall” by Oasis. It’s a stretch but I am guessing.

Clue #14: I am guessing The Super Furry Animals. The only thing that rhymes with Orange is Blorenge which is in Wales. Home of the aforementioned band. Again a stretch but my best guess.
