2008 Summer Festival Outlook (Part XIV)
With the Coachella and Bonnaroo announcements having come and gone, you may be wondering to yourself, what’s next? Well, while we’re still at least a month away from Lollapalooza and ACL lineups, we may get announcements from two other major summer festivals this week.
10,000 Lakes:
While nothing is confirmed, there are rumors that the lineup for the 2008 edition of the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival could come as early as Wednesday. At least that’s what they are hinting on their myspace…
We don’t have any current rumors, since everything seems to be pretty hush hush, but I would say one safe bet you could put on appearing is Trey Anastasio…
Sasquatch!:
A Sasquatch! announcement could also come this week, especially since the official website was updated over the weekend. We have a list of all the current confirmations and rumors at our Summer Festival Outlook.
Earlier today, Travis Hay over at Seattle music blog Ear Candy hinted that some pretty big, non-lineup related news may be coming as well…
According to leaked tour dates, it is looking like organizers have learned from their mistakes and may be planning a third and fourth day of Sasquatch! 2008. This time the festival might be a Saturday through Tuesday event. It makes sense considering concertgoers will already be on site at the campgrounds and no one should have to be at work on Monday, considering it is Memorial Day. Also, organizers should be able to ensure a pretty packed venue since Monday will likely have a full day of bands performing, not a show that starts at 4 p.m. on a night when most people are traveling the two or more hours its takes them to get to the Gorge from western Washington. However, the Tuesday date is a bit of a head scratcher, which could mean the leaked tour date is a typos, as one reader pointed out.
Hay also revealed the Cops and Joshua Morrison are the latest lineup leaks..
Update: Sasquatch! has confirmed (via press release) that the festival will indeed take place over three days this year. The lineup will be announced on February 25.

I’m hoping they announce Sasquatch before Saturday when Bonnaroo Tix go onsale. I’m 95% committed to Bonnaroo, but lineup could swing me west.
Rolling Stone says it’s a 3 day festival. (Of course, that means it has to be true.) Friday-Monday. Looks good for REM to close the festival. I don’t think we’ll see a lineup before Feb 20th.
Sorry. Saturday-Monday. That would = 3 days.
