Indie rockers take part in movies

Don’t be surprised if you hear the likes of some of your favorite musicians when you go to the movies in the coming months…

Broken Social Scene penned the music score for Ellen Page’s next flick The Tracey Fragments. The film is set for national release sometime in the coming months, and will also feature the likes of the Peaches and the FemBots on the music side.

Sean Lennon has also gotten in on the fun when it comes to music scores. Lennon will reportedly write the music for the upcoming film Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead. The film, set for the release Halloween 2008, will mark his second major involvement in a film. In 2006, he started in Friendly Fire.

  1. The Tracey Fragments is an incredible piece of film. It was one of the main features of last year’s Vancouver Film Festival, and did pretty well in its wider Canadian release last year as well. It’s been around a while, but that doesn’t mean BSS’s score is anything less than incredible.
