STP running full throttle…
Sure to be a buzz of activity over the summer, Stone Temple Pilots have decided to ta
ke the reunion past the Rock on the Range Festival. The band’s been busy, extending dates forward and hinting at things to come, especially frontman Scott Weiland. Only a month after leaving Velvet Revolver mid-tour, he’s now considering a new future for his former band.
“We were never a band that felt like we needed to lean too hard onto our muscle,” he said. “We always felt like we had enough beauty and enough finesse in our music, you know, while we were together, that could carry us into a long career. So for us to make a record at an older age doesn’t seem like a stretch, you know, ’cause we were never all about brawn.”
Well, this is sure to burn a hole for Slash and the ol’ gang. What’s next? A Soundgarden reunion? It seems like everyone’s getting nostalgic these days. It must be all the Spring cleaning going on.
