Beastie Boys have plans for 2008
It’s never to late to start making plans for this new year. Even if we’re already three months into it…

And for everyone’s favorite New York hip-hop trio, it looks like 2008 could mean a new album.
Adam Yauch, Mike D. and Adam Horovitz are working on a new album, recording at the Beastie Boys‘ Oscilloscope Studios in lower Manhattan. “It’s in the early stages of development, but it sounds cool to me,” says Yauch. He wouldn’t offer much else in terms of details: “We make music and eat lunch,” he says. “Sometimes we fantasize about how cool it would be if we had a chef that cooked lunch every day.”
No word on whether the album will be a continuation of their recent instrumental work on 2007’s The Mix-Up, though we’d be willing to bet it will feature a return of their norm hip-hop sound.
As for the planned remix of The Mix-Up? Still seems like a possibility, but there hasn’t been any official update in quite a while.
The Beastie Boys are scheduled to headline Langerado next weekend. After that, they’ll be performing at a charity show in NYC.
Until then, how about some remixes?
