Attn Internet: This is not a real lineup

As we explained when we initially posted about  “Lollapalooza 2008 by the Lollaboard,” the relating lineup,  poster, and schedule, which are now making rounds around the internet, are neither real, nor intend to generate baseless buzz.

In fact, the lineup is nothing more than a game, or more specifically a wish list compiled by members of the Lollapalooza message board. It was done solely for entertainment purposes, and was by no means created to float around as a “fake lineup.” What more, the schedule clearly indicates the source of origin.

But for whatever reason, whether as a result of a lack of research or because people are truly hoping this is indeed the real lineup for Lollapalooza 2008, the poster seems to be popping up all over the web. It was initially posted on  Last.fm pages, then Time Out Chicago, and now it has spread all the way up to Idolater. Perhaps the funniest part of the whole thing however, is that these sites are being criticial of a lineup that is clearly marked as not real.

But then again, thats the problem with fake lineups.
