Plug Awards 2008
The 3rd annual Plug Independent Music Awards took place last night at the lovely Terminal 5 in
New York City.
Among the winners, Arcade Fire were awarded “Album of the Year” for Neon Bible, those creative minds from Oxfordshire nabbed “Best Artist,” Justice beat out Vampire Weekend and Battles to win “New Artist of the Year,” St. Vincent took home the award for best “Female Performer,” and Animal Collective’s Strawberry Jam was awarded the highly coveted “Indie Album of the Year.”

In the all important music media category, our friends over at Stereogum took home “Music Blog of the Year” honors, while Pitchfork(!?!?) shockingly was crowned “Best Music Site.” Hopefully, next year we’ll be nominated…
Of course, we’re just dreaming.
Brooklyn Vegan, a nominee for best blog, has a pretty extensive recap of last night’s festivities. As does Jason over at Late Night Wallflower.
Along with taking home a “Lifetime Achievement” award, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were also the musical headliners…
Dizzie Rascal also performed…
As did Jose Gonzales…
