Rage Against the Machine, Wilco at Lolla too?

Jim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun Times, not the same guy who broke the Radiohead and NIN news, is back with more rumors about other Lollapalooza 2008 headliners.

…but now new rumors are swirling that Rage Against the Machine and Wilco also will perform.

If true, those four bands alone mean that the reinvented destination festival will be the best major festival bill of the summer.

Wilco is not really a surprise as pretty much everyone was expecting them to make another appearance at Grant Park this August…

As for Rage Against the Machine? Well, as far fetched as it sounds, it’s certainly plausible. Look at this way. Rage were originally confirmed to play the now postponed Vineland Music Festival. With a void now in their calender, they were probably looking for another festival and Lollapalooza came calling.

Assuming Radiohead plays Sunday, which isn’t confirmed, I’d expect to see Wilco to play opposite either Nine Inch Nails or Rage if this all turns out to be true.

Who would the fifth headliner be?

Perhaps a rap group like N.E.R.D. or Gnarls Barkley? Or maybe Foo Fighters? Lollapalooza 2008 certainly looks like it will be quite the festival.
