Stevie Wonder to headline Summerfest

Stevie Wonder is the latest addition to this year’s Summerfest lineup. The 57-year-old music legend will headline opening night festivities. Other currently confirmed headliners for the 2008 edition of the Milwaukee festival include Rush, Tom Petty, the Jonas Brothers, and Tim McGraw.

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce An Evening with Stevie Wonder will kick off Summerfest 2008 at the Marcus Amphitheater on opening night, Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m.

An American icon and musical genius, Stevie Wonder is recognized as one of the most influential singers and songwriters of the 20th century.  In addition to his 30 top 10 hits, such as “Part Time Lover,” “Ebony And Ivory,” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You,” as well as the well-known charity collaborations “We Are The World” and “That’s What Friends Are For,” he has also won over 20 Grammy awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award.

General admission tickets for Summerfest are currently on sale.Tickets for shows in Marcus Amphitheater can be bought via Ticketmaster.
