The Raconteurs releasing new album this week?

The Raconteurs might be the next band to unexpectedly  surprise the music world with a sudden album release.

While the band’s follow up to 2006’s Broken Boy Soldiers has been anticipated for some time, there is now some speculation that the new, currently untitled album may be released before we know it. The hoopla began this past Thursday when the Hove Festival, which recently announced The Raconteurs as its headliner, published an article noting that the band’s second album has an April release date.

Soon afterwards, a possible album cover (see above) and pre-sale option popped up on Gotocdworld.com, which listed a March 18 release date for the vinyl version and March 25 for CDs.

What does this all mean? We’re still not sure, but something seems fishy. We’ll update you as more information becomes known.
