New Gnarls Barkley album out today!

In a move that’s becoming moreover a trend now, Gnarls Barkley has released their second album, The Odd Couple, today via digital retail outlets (e.g. iTunes). The physical release will now be March 25th, as opposed to it’s original April 8th street date. And while the group still hasn’t addressed the leak two weeks ago, they did manage to throw out some quotes regarding the change of plans.

“They felt the timing was right to just go for it,” a press release claims. “With the shifting seasons, furtive romantic entanglements and fierce college basketball rivalries, the latter half of March can be confusing. People need to be soothed and inspired now.”

Well, who saw that one coming? If anything has changed over the past few months in the music business, it’s been the surprises. Between The Raconteurs’ announcement yesterday and NIN’s surprise album two weeks ago, the possibilities now seem endless.

Guns N’ Roses, I’m looking at you.

If you haven’t read our review of The Odd Couple, then I’ll tell you now: get this album while it’s hot. There’s some great stuff on here and a perfect send off for those heading out on spring break.
