The Raconteurs aren’t going to like iTunes

Remember when Jack White wrote that the main point of the early release of the new Raconteurs’s album, Consolers of the Lonely, was to get the “record to fans, the press, radio, etc., all at the EXACT SAME TIME so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding it’s availability, reception or perception”? It looks as if iTunes may have messed up those plans…

According to the Rolling Stone, the album was accidently made available for purchase earlier today by iTunes. The download link has been since been removed, but it appears that a few people were able to purchase The Raconteurs second album before the mistake was corrected.

Consolers of the Lonely is slated for release this Tuesday, March, 25 on all media formats via Third Man Records.

The album’s tracklist was recently officially revealed. One of the album’s tracks, “Five on the Five” was originally premiered during their last tour…
