Festival Outlook (Part XVII)
The title may have changed (we dropped the summer part), but the coverage hasn’t. We ar
e still here to update you on the latest rumblings and grumbling of the upcoming festival season.
We haven’t had one of these individual editions in a while, but with the lineups Lollapalooza, Virgin Music Festival, and Austin City Limits set to be announced in the coming day, we figured there was no better time for a recap of the latest ongoings.
Lollapalooza:
- The 2008 lineup will be revealed on April 7 at 8:00 am CT.
- Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Noah and the Whale, Pcaso Tha Artist, and Perry Farrell’s friend Peter Distefano are the latest names to confirm their respective appearances.
- The hottest rumor? Snoop Dogg and 311…
- Other rumors: Stephen Malkmus, De Novo Dahl, Louis XIV, and Eve 6
All Points West:
- The Rolling Stone is reporting that Robyn will be added to the lineup
- DJ Honda will apparently play in between sets…
- No word on any other additions, but we very much doubt the current lineup is the final one. We’ll keep you updated.
Virgin Mobile Festival:
- Still no word on when the lineup will be revealed, but it’s probably safe to say it will happen within in the next two weeks.
- As for confirmations? We’ve got four so far: Foo Fighters (also now being reported by Rolling Stone), Deadmau5, Rabbit in the Moon, and Conscious Alliance.
- Stone Temple Pilots and Jack Johnson are probably some safe rumors. Others can be found here.
Austin City Limits:
- The 2008 lineup will be revealed on April 15 .
- Confirmed? Eli Young Band, Joe Bonamassa, Kevin Fowler, and Blue Mother Tupelo will all be in Austin.
- As for rumors? We suggest heading over to the newly formed ACL 2008 Blog. The blogger has a few contacts at C3 Presents so his info might turn out pretty accurate.
Other Stuff:
- Prince and Coachella: We still don’t know, but we suggest you check out this post.
- There hasn’t been a cease in new Bonnaroo clues.
- And to answer one of the frequently most asked questions? From what we can tell, the Vegoose Music Festival WILL take place this year, between October 31 and November 2.
As always more as it comes. Keep checking our main Festival Outlook page for constant, hourly updates.

[...] This probably means that at least one more name will be added to fill the void. Perhaps the confirmed, but yet to be “officially announced” Robyn? [...]
