Pemberton, Pitchfork make additions

Two of the most highly anticipated music festivals that start with a “P” have made additions to their respective 2008 lineups.

The inaugural Pemberton Festival has added N*E*R*D., Minus the Bear, and Matisyahu to it’s lineup. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, MGMT will no longer be appearing.

As for Pitchfork? Well, the 2008 edition of the indie weekend escape will now include Dinosaur Jr., Jarvis Cocker, Ghostface and Raekwon, and Mission of Burma to it’s already announced lineup.

Along with the previously announced performance by Public Enemy, Mission of Burma will play their just-reissued 1983 post-punk classic Vs.! A third “Don’t Look Back” act will be added in the coming weeks.

Other additions to the lineup include the original lineup of the legendary Dinosaur Jr., Ghostface and Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan performing together, and Jarvis Cocker, who will be making his first Midwest appearance in more than 12 years.

All this comes after Jay Reatard, King Khan & His Shrines, The Ruby Suns, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Occidental Brothers Dance Band International, The Apples in Stereo, Dirty Projectors, Cut Copy, and Fuck Buttons were all also recently added to the lineup.
