Watch: Conor Oberst with Springsteen
As we mentioned last week, quite a bit of controversy resulted after Conor Oberst’s on stage appearance during Bruce Springsteen’s recent show in Omaha, Nebraska. The Daily Record described the Bright Eyes’ frontman as “woefully unprepaired,” while several fans of Springsteen went as far to call the collaboration between Oberst and Springsteen on “Thunder Road” as a “debacle”.

As a fan of both artists, I’ll plead the fifth on this one…

I was there and I am a fan of both artists. I thought Conor did great and the performance was amazing but their musical styles and personalities are so different I don’t think they would be able to make a better harmony.
It’s not like Conor Oberst has the best voice for harmonies… as a fan of both artists… I’d have loved to be there. Does Conor Oberst sound any worst than the crowd who’s stealing all the vocal parts away from Springsteen anyways? This is an awesome opportunity to see a rare collaboration.
