The Offspring: More dates, album finished?
Who knew Dexter Holland would mirror Axl Rose and hide away for several years? It seems like forever ago that The
Offspring released anything new or interesting, which is a bummer since the group is one of its genre’s best. That’s all to change this year, at least if the two new dates are any indication of the band’s current state. I mean, why would one tour if there’s an album to be cut and finished, right?
The Offspring have announced additional tour dates in preparation of the release of their upcoming album. The band will join the May 30 lineup of Madrid‘s Electric Festival alongside Rage Against The Machine, Queens Of The Stone Age, Iggy & The Stooges and more.
They will also headline the Rockwave Festival at Terra Vibe Park in Athens, Greece on July 8, which will be the band‘s first ever visit to Greece. Finally they will headline Santa Barbara, CA radio station KJEE‘s Summer Round Up on Sunday, May 18 at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
One would hope that with a headlining show in Los Angeles next month, maybe word of a new single or a release date might surface? Who knows these days, with the way music is being released. Given Holland’s rather vague details of the upcoming release, the band could be trying out a new marketing strategy to rival that of NIN and Radiohead. Perhaps they will only release the songs live? Whoa, would that be a mistake.
Hey, you didn’t hear it from us.
