Feist adds tour dates, Lollapalooza next?
Leslie Feist has added a series of dates to her already announced U.S. tour, which kicks off later this evening in Detroit, Michigan.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about these dates is the lack of any between August 1 and 3.
And since we’re all about speculation here at Consequence of Sound, anyone else thinking an appearance at Lollapalooza? After all, Broken Social Scene is already there…
With all her recent success, many are questioning the current status of her “indie cred”…
At what point does indie become mainstream? Can you win five Junos and still sell your record at a shop with surly employees? If you make an Apple commercial but have really hot bangs, does that boost your street cred?
All this certainly seems silly, but then again, what indie artist has played Sesame Street? Maybe “mainstream” is a good thing…at least sometimes.

I am looking forward to the Canadian leg of her tour. See you in Montreal!
I agree with Nathan. Not gonna happen. There’s a blackout for acts playing Lollapalooza - no act playing Lollapalooza can play the city for 60 days before and 30 days after the festival. While Ravinia isn’t technically in Chicago, I’m thinking a close suburb will probably count.
Why wouldn’t Feist be able to make it saturday? I see nothing preventing her from doing so…
And I will agree with you about the fact that she is playing Ravinia, and that could very well prevent a Lolla show. But she could still do the BSS thing.
wont happen; Ravinia is an hour north of the city and I dont see why she would be playing both Ravinia and Lolla. Second, aren’t BSS playing Saturday, the one day Feist can’t make it to Lolla?
God… If this means full BSS I might just die….
Of course, theres always the chance she will just show up for the BSS show, and not play her own set. Or maybe an after Party. I could see that happening. It sure would be a nice surprise for all the BSS fans out there, if shes is announced as an artist, then everyone will expect her to be there with BSS, if not, then no one will be sure, and when she does make an appearance for the BSS set, it would be all that much more special.
Personally I’d rather see Metric added.
But Feist would be a fine addition. and Great opener for Radiohead.
