Local H announces new record release

Chicago grunge rockers Local H, who are known for those awesome tunes “Bound For The Floor” and “Eddie Vedder,” announced today on their Myspace page that they will be releasing their seventh album, aptly titled, 12 Angry Months.

Alternative rock mainstays Local H return with their seventh album on May 13, titled 12 Angry Months. The band’s debut on Shout! Factory, 12 Angry Months is Local H’s first new studio album since 2004’s Whatever Happened To P.J. Soles?

Written after the bitter end of a long-term relationship, the album chronicles a full year of post-breakup experiences. Each track on 12 Angry Months corresponds to a month, and deals with the range of emotions one encounters after love turns sour. Those emotions range from anger (“so, baby could you do me a favor? fall off the earth and i’ll see you later”), to jealousy (“this is crazy, I can’t believe that you replaced me”), to acceptance (“you knew we’d never make it anyway”).

The band commented on the release in humorous fashion according to their MySpace.

“We’d just like to say that Local H does not support the word ‘drop’. as in: ‘Local H’s new record DROPS may 13′. Sure we have a new record COMING OUT on may 13th—but it is definitely not ‘DROPPING’. Maybe it’s just where we come from–but when it comes to records and record labels-the word ‘DROP’ just makes us queasy. Not cool at all.”

Mark your calendars, but also don’t forget the upcoming residency at Chicago’s Beat Kitchen, where the band will showcase all seven albums, including rarities and b-sides.
