Watch: Death Cab for Cutie: “I Will Possess Your Heart”
As we’ve mentioned, and at times been corrected about, Death Cab for Cutie will release their new album, Narrow Stairs, on May 13 via Atlantic Records. In support of the release, the band has unveiled the video for the album’s first single, “I Will Possess Your Heart”. The eight minute-plus video was directed by Shawn Kim and Aaron Stewart-Ahn.
There will also be a four minute edited version released for national television.
Last night, NPR’s All Songs Considered premiered “Pity and Fear,” another new song off the upcoming album. Check it out below…

I’ve been a Death Cab fan since “We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes” and I have to say, I was quite disappointed with plans. I was a little nervous about picking up “Narrow Stairs” and when I did, it took me a while to get used to it. Now it’s one of my favorites. Every album has its garbage tracks (”I Will Possess Your Heart”), but “Narrow Stairs” is a great album. As is “The Open Door EP” by the way.
I am really digging the new direction Death Cab has seemed to take with this record.
