Motley Crue back on the road, Cruefest

1204_motley_crue_b.jpgIn an announcement that’s sure to shake up the world (if not forty-somethings out of Los Angeles), Motley Crue released information tonight regarding both an upcoming album and a traveling music festival, similar to that of Ozzfest. Not excited enough? The band also released its new single, “Saints of Los Angeles.”

Speaking at a press conference in Los Angeles today (April 15), the veteran rockers announced that Buckcherry, Papa Roach, and (which features Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx) will join them on tour across the US and Canada.

The traveling festival, which the bands have dubbed “the loudest show on earth”, is set to kick off on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and conclude in Pittsburgh on August 31. It will feature all four original Motley Crue members — singer Vince Neil, bassist Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee.

“Hopefully it’ll be like Ozzfest and carry on for years,” said Lee, comparing it to Ozzy Osbourne’s successful heavy metal festival, which kicked off 12 years ago.

Although the new single premiered on XBOX Live for Rock Band, you can listen to it at their MySpace page, as well. For those looking to snatch up some tickets before they sell out (after all, the Carnival of Sin tour sold out everywhere), you can grab the pre-sale tickets here. What’s the code? Let’s just say, some people are throwing around: SAINTS666

Aren’t we too nice?
