Franz Ferdindad give us a taste
Franz Ferdinand, Scotland’s favorite band with a name inspired by an archduke, are currently working on their third full-length album, set for release sometime in the October. The band recently gave the internet a small taste of what the new album may sound like with a video entitled “Under the Stage”. The 47-second clip is reportedly from a recent album session.
Earlier this month, Franz Ferdindad previewed several other new songs at a surprise basement show in Glasgow. NME was there and was also able to snag a quick interview with drummer Paul Thomson.
“The new album’s been going alright, we’re about halfway through. Everything’s written, but we’re giving ourselves a bit of time in case something comes up at the last minute – that’s how ‘40 Ft’ and ‘The Outsiders’ were written.
“The last record was a bit rushed, we got straight off the tour bus and locked ourselves in the studio, and I think that’s reflected in the furious tempo. This record will be a bit more easy going, I think.”
