A Tribe Called Quest, back on track
A year and a half after their initial reunion for the 2006 2K Sports Bounce Tour, classic hip-hop act A Tribe Called Quest are together again for this year’s installment of Rock the Bells, headlining every stop on the tour.
In addition to reforming his old group, Q-Tip will also be performing songs from his highly anticipated solo album, The Renaissance. Is there a chance of hearing any new Quest material while they’re out on the road? Perhaps. According to Phife Dawg, the group still owes Jive Records one last album, but it may be later as opposed to sooner, as he revealed in an interview with LISTD.net…
“It’d be real different being in the studio. It would be real interesting to see where Q-Tip is. It would all be on a much higher level. But we are all into such different stuff from way back then. We’d need at least a solid month to work on something. Trying to get all of us together for that much time… I don’t see that happening.”
It appears we’ll have to be satisfied with their classic material for now.
