The Strokes prep new album…

As alluded to first by guitarist Albert Hammond Jr., it appears The Strokes will soon return to the studio in the coming months to begin recording their long-awaited fourth album.

This time around the news comes from bassist Nikolai Fraiture in a recent blog entry on the band’s official website:

First, I’d like to say that I’m still looking very forward to a fourth album release. We just need to work out a few technical kinks…

Second, here are some other things I’ve been doing while waiting for all of us to get back into the studio. It’s been a long break but much needed for us to remain together as a productive band.

No additional details were shed though it looks like the followup to 2006’s First Impressions of Earth will be coming sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Strokes’ fans can check out Hammond’s new solo album, Como Te Llama, due for release in June, and  Fraiture’s new DVD project, “A Kind of Dream”.
