Coldplay prep free NYC, London shows
As if the newly unveiled cover art for the band’s upcoming album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, wasn’t enough, Coldplay have also revealed plans to perform two free shows in June.
The English natives will reportedly play a free show at the Brixton Academy in London, England on June 16 followed by a performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 23. As this is a free show, no tickets will be available for purchase, instead fans will be able to win tickets on the band’s official website.
If you can’t catch them in the U.K. or U.S., Coldplay are also playing Canada’s Pemberton Festival and Sumer Sonic in Japan.
As Jay mentioned earlier, NME will be issuing the album’s first single, “Violet Hill” in their May 10 issue. It will also be available as a free download on Coldplay.com begining on April 29.
