Virgin Mobile Festival officially reveals full lineup
It took longer than expected, but the Baltimore edition of this year’s Virgin Mobile Festival has officially revealed its lineup. We already knew the festival, set to take place between August 9 and 10 at Pimlico Race Track, was going to have some pretty big headliners. Thankfully, the rest of the lineup filled out quite nicely.
I guess Pollstar was right…

Saturday: Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Wilco, Underworld, Cat Power, Bloc Party, The Offspring, Paramore, Chuck Berry and the Silver Beats, Gogol Bordello, Lupe Fiasco, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Citizen Cope, Duffy, KT Tunsall, The Swell Season, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Soulwax, DJ Dan and Donald Glaud, Erol Alkan, Ferry Corsten, Steve Lawler
Sunday: Nine Inch Nails, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, Stone Temple Pilots, Moby (DJ Set), The Black Keys, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Lil Wayne, Chromeo, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Andrew Bird, Taking Back Sunday, She & Him, The Go! Team, Shudder to Think, Rabbit in the Moon, Richie Hawton, Pendelum, Deadmau5, Armin Van Buuren
Tickets go on sale May 3 via ticketmaster.com. (Buy through this link to support CoS!)
Additional artists will be added in the near future. Stay tuned to our Virgin Mobile outlook page for all the latest confirmations and rumors.
A few things of note…
Moby and Underworld are both playing in the dance tent? There better be paramedics on scene…
Props to the Virgin people for keeping the Bob Dylan confirmation under wraps. That one totally came out of left field…

right on jaaacccooo. if someone cant find a festival to go to this year, then they should join bandwagon and just make one like so many did this year. its all music-all creative pieces for our enjoyment, any festival in my eyes is worth checking out for the “experience” that each one gives. but cant satisfy them all i guess.
I have done Coachella twice, I’ve been to the WMC’s in Miami 4 times (Ultra Music Festival) I’ve been to Lollapalooza 3 times. plus many other shows and festivals and as i agree Baltimore Virgin had a better line up last year they did a hell of a job getting one together this year. Yes it’s like a 90’s reunion. But hey i’m from that generation so rock on. I think the varitey is awesome i think they venue is awesome (i was there last year) and i love there little extras. those rollergirls last year were so funny. i hear when people want more but my advise is do what you want. so many festivals all over the world this year than anymore i could ever remember. some are one sided some are two sided. some don’t amke sense. oh well i will do baltimore again this year its what i think is best and there dance tent matches last year so much. rabbit in the moon, armin, moby dj set, underwolrd. i’m so happy i didn’t get into the hype of APW. god i still wonder are they even gonna sell beer at that show? all i know is state parks don’t allow that. hahahaha if they don’t, cause i need my beer lol
to all of you out there enjoy your festivals and Rock on in your own way and F the rest of them a-holes lol
yours truly
Jaaacccooo
I still have a feeling that Muse may be added on Saturday, due to Seth’s comments, and the lack of one more bigger band to play on the main stage
Ozomatli isn’t good live?
Ehhh. I was definitely expecting more. Bob Dylan … he was way too old and sucked when I saw him at Woodstock 14 years ago. I’m sure he’ll be even better now …
Last year’s lineup was better.
What is it with these festivals and these blogs?>>>
What do the blogs have to do with this? We just post the news.
Jeez bob dylan.
no Muse….what a jip
Next Ramon you’re going to say Ozomatli are a good live band. I understand Ramon ‘most likely of Hispanic decent, based on your name’ that you want more South American acts. But the dirty truth remains that the majority of people that attend big festivals like this are caucasian and festivals want to cater to their taste more.
What is it with these festivals and these blogs? They never invite artists form Spain or Latin america to play. For your information there are a lot of bands out there that are 1000X better than She & Him (Christina 7 Nacho) and equally as awesome as Underworld (Gui/Bitman). It’s a shame what you guys are missing. Somebody hit me up if you know of a truly eclectic festival.
WOW! Nice!

[...] Lineup for Virgin Baltimore Released Since this onslaught of festival leaks seemed to all take place this morning, I decided to combine them all in to one post. First off, the lineup for Virgin Baltimore was announced today and I have to say that I think the inclusion of Lil Wayne is a fantastic idea. Hopefully he’ll start to show up at more summer festivals in the future. Some of the other big names at Virgin include Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Wilco, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, Stone Temple Pilots, Moby, and Nine Inch Nails. The Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore will take place August 9th & 10th at the Pimlico Race Track. Tickets go on sale May 3rd through Ticketmaster. Here’s the full list of bands that will be performing at Virgin: Saturday: Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Wilco, Underworld, Cat Power, Bloc Party, The Offspring, Paramore, Chuck Berry and the Silver Beats, Gogol Bordello, Lupe Fiasco, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Citizen Cope, Duffy, KT Tunsall, The Swell Season, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Soulwax, DJ Dan and Donald Glaud, Erol Alkan, Ferry Corsten, Steve Lawler Sunday: Nine Inch Nails, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, Stone Temple Pilots, Moby (DJ Set), The Black Keys, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Lil Wayne, Chromeo, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Andrew Bird, Taking Back Sunday, She & Him, The Go! Team, Shudder to Think, Rabbit in the Moon, Richie Hawton, Pendulum, Deadmau5, Armin Van Buuren NME Leaks Glastonbury Lineup Heading over to the UK for a minute, it looks like NME has leaked the partial lineup for this years Glastonbury festival. Click here to see the list of artists that will be appearing at Glastonbury this year, according to NME. NME doesn’t always have the best credibility when it comes to making bold statements like this, but I’d say this is at least semi-accurate, given that the official Glastonbury lineup will be out later this week. Find more information about the Glastonbury festival at their official website. Headliners Announced For 2008 Voodoo Music Experience And later this year, back over here in the states, the Voodoo Music Experience will kick off its tenth year in New Orleans, October 24th through the 26th. The headliners were leaked earlier today and include R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, and The Neville Brothers. I’m not sure if that’s going to be enough to get me down to New Orleans again this year, but as always, I’ll reserve judgment until the full lineup comes out in June. Anyways, presale 3-day passes are going on sale today for $100 at ticketmaster.com, which still a pretty sweet deal if you missed out on those super cheap passes that they had on sale last month. via Consequence of Sound [...]
