Scott Weiland in jail??

Scott Weiland in jail??

Just when it seemed Stone Temple Pilots were ready to fly high again, reports hot off the press this morning on Kerrang! confirm that former Velvet Revolver and reunited Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has been found guilty of a DUI stemming from last November in Los Angeles:

The vocalist, who was not present for sentencing at Los Angeles’ Superior Court yesterday, entered a plea “no contest” through his attorney, Anthony Brooklier, and was been sentenced to 192 hours (eight days) in county jail.

Weiland was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol program and pay almost $2,000 in fines. The singer, who has until May 28 to serve the sentence, is also on four years probation.

Jeez, talk about the dice not tumbling in your favor! So far there is no word from the band if there are any canceled shows or not. I hope this isn’t deja vu circa 1996 all over again.
