Chad Kroeger can’t drive
In what can only be described as “the wheels falling off,” reports this morning confirmed Nickelback guitarist/singer Chad Kroeger has been banned from driving for a year and forced to pay a $600 fine stemming from an April 1st DUI conviction. According to the report, Kroeger sped his $175,000 Lamborghini in a British Colombia neighborhood with a BAC of 0.14, almost twice the legal limit.
Regarding the charges, Chad Kroeger told reporters he doesn’t condone drinking and driving:
“I don’t think you should do it,” Kroeger said. “Everybody makes mistakes.”
Regarding the courtroom drama, Kroeger’s lawyer tried to have the charges dropped due to a claim that the Canadian police did an unlawful search as well as fear for Kroeger that he may be branded a criminal in the United States:
“His council told us he’ll be allowed to enter every country in the planet with this on his record, but in the United States it’s a discretionary issue,” [Attorney Marvin] Brown said Thursday on CTV Newsnet. “He may or may not.”
Things could be worse for Nickelback. They could be back in Portugal again!

When you lose someone to a drunk driver Indygirl, I have a feeling you will feel different about this situation.
Let me start by saying that I don’t condone drinking and driving but come on, a very large percentage of the population of the U.S. has a DUI or OWI on their record. An even larger segment has driven drunk but just not gotten caught. Crap people, get over it. As a public figure every mistake he makes is going to be broadcast for all to see and pick apart. The rest of us enjoy anonymity when we screw up. So, unless you have never screwed up and done something illegal and/or stupid don’t act so shocked an appalled!
