Check Out: New Weezer Songs
First Oasis and now this?
Thanks to the world of the internet, several tracks off Weezer’s much anticipated Red Album have apparently leaked, generating a buzz of excitement as the entire music blogosphere and listeners alike are finally getting another taste of the followup to 2005’s Make Believe.
Out of respect to both the band and their label, as is always the case, Consequence of Sound will not host these leaked mp3s. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t link some streams…
Check Out

At last…the final step in Weezer’s agonizingly slow self destruction. As any true fan of the band’s first (and unfortunately not the last) two albums knows, all of Weezer’s subsequent efforts have been a pointless exercise in reinvention for no fucking reason. Instead of staying true to the awe inspiring indie rock ecstasy that the band had achieved, they became the definition of sell outs… resorting to cheap tricks and piss poor imitation of pop music. The dismal albums that followed tortured the faithful fan base as they watched their band’s heart wrenching arias devolve into mindless contrived drivel (i.e. Beverly Hills). It seems the Red album is final nail in the coffin.

eh it’s ok
the second song is Harvard graduates doing red hot chili peppers
Totally agree with that
I’m coming around to these songs, specifically the two we decided to stream. The others like “Greatest Man…” are phenomenal, I think.
This should be a very pivotal record for the band.
Yeah, I liked Make Believe.
i’m a huge weezer fan, and i think these songs plus “pork and beans” show big promise for the red album, especially “troublemaker”. they might just redeem themselves from “beverly hills”…
I can’t help but love weezer. They suger coat their songs. But I still love bopping along and enjoying Rivers lyrics.
