Smashing Pumpkins work on DVD, future plans

After finishing off a successful, globe trotting tour with an induction into the Hollywood Rockwalk, Chicago’s “formerly”20070624_smashing_pumpkins.jpg own Smashing Pumpkins are already penciling in plans for 2008. What does the bald boy wonder have up his sleeves? A whole lot, apparently.

Right now we got a lot up in the air. We’re working on a DVD that’s sort of a documentary of our residency Fillmore shows. We’re going to put out hopefully some of our early demos for Christmas, probably put out a new Pumpkins single with new Pumpkins in the fall and then do a fall tour and then we start putting out a new Pumpkins album probably beginning next year.

Much of this news is stuff that’s been known for months (though the DVD is a nice surprise), but one thing that stands out in what Corgan said is the phrase, “new Pumpkins in the fall.” Does this mean Ginger Reyes and Jeff Schroeder are still in the picture? Or, does this mean a new bassist and guitarist? Something to keep in mind, Pumpkinheads.

Then again, does it really matter? If the American Gothic EP is any indication of their involvement, its really just Corgan Cassidy and the Sundance Drummer. Yes, I entertain myself constantly.
