Boonstock: Just another Canadian festival
Thanks to posters littered around Canada, at least according to our source deep inside the lovely country, we now know of yet another Canadian summer music festival. Called Boonstock, the Edmonton, Alberta festival is scheduled to take place between July 4 and 5. Among the bands scheduled to take part in this year’s festivities include:
Friday: Three Days Grace, Default, Mobile, Tupelo Honey, Ten Second Epic, Rides Again
Saturday: Alexisonfire, Sloan, illScarlett, GOB, Daniel Wesley

I really hope Boonstock can get their shit together. I am all for bringing sweet bands into AB to celebrate music, but the organizers of Boonstock totally exploited local artists when they set up a fake bandwars telling 30-some bands they would all get a chance to play Boonstock. They promised a panel of expert judges, but there was none, and there were obviously politics involved. If you want a party to go and get wasted at where you don’t give a shit about music, have a party. But don’t say that you are supporting home grown talent when its so very obvious a money making thing. Shame on you Boonstock….your now just like everyone else.

Rumour has it this fest started out as a big keg party that happened for a few years when the organizer invited Social Code out one time to play at the Kegger.. The rest is history..
