Alice In Chains set to record new album

Could the legendary Seattle grunge rockers be on the pathway to glory once more? Are they chasing the same shadows that AC/DC experienced almost thirty years ago during Back In Black? Well, according to reports from Blabbermouth, the quartet is working on brand new music for their long awaited fourth album and the first since 1995’s self-titled album. The album will feature the band’s newest frontman, Willian DuVall, after the death of former soul-man Layne Staley. Regarding the new album, guitarist Jerry Cantrell said:

“We’ve been working about the last four months, and there’s a good bulk of music and a good body of work so far, and we’re having fun, and you know, we’re taking our time and trying to figure out where William fits in and where we need to step up, and I have all the confidence in the world in the guys,” he said. “The most important thing to me is that we’re all together and, you know, it’s been a tough and painful experience at times, but it’s been very rewarding at the same time.”

The band says that the album will see a fall release, but there is no reporting of the band beginning recording or a producer. For now, the band has decided to turn it’s attention to recording instead of performing live, unless given a special circumstance, according to the band.

It looks like the fall of this year will bring some heavy iron to the table. We can all anticipate the tables to turn and the goblets of rock to overflow with greatness.

For now, we toast.

  1. I know the band was more Staley-Cantrell than just Staley, but still. I could have sworn they said they were going to honor Layne’s memory by not playing as “Alice in Chains.” Oh well.

    Ka-ching!
