Ratatat prep LP3, release material from LP4
New York electric duo Ratatat are back and gearing up for the release of their new album, LP3, due out on July 8 via XL Recordings. The followup to 2006’s Classics, was reportedly recorded over the course of just a few weeks and features more of a live guitar and percussion sound than what has been found on the duo’s past work.
In support of the upcoming release, Ratatat recently released the album’s first single, entitled “Shiller” as a 7″. Included on the single will be the b-side “Mahalo,” a track that will apparently appear on the band’s fourth album. Wait, fourth album? We know what you’re saying, “but #3 hasn’t been released yet!” It’s all about being cutting edge, my friends…
