Fatboy Slim is no more?

Fatboy Slim is no more?

Norman Cook is done with Fatboy Slim.

But don’t be too upset. After all, the renowned British DJ isn’t retiring, he’s just simply once again looking for a new alter ego as he expalined to The Sun in an interview earlier this week.

But the DJing legend is keeping schtum about them until he makes his decision. He said: “Yes, I am ditching the Fatboy Slim name but I can’t tell you the new one.

“I’m going to take the Fifth Amendment on that question and not say because I’ll get myself into trouble.”

In case you were wondering, Cook has worked under seven different names over his 20+ year music career. He has gone by Fatboy Slim, obviously his most successful alter ego to date, for nearly 11 years.

NME is reporting that Cook will go by the stage name Brighton Port Authority. However, they have also since published a story noting that the DJ is denying the name changing story all together.

Whatever is the case, Cook will have to make figure out the whole name fairly soon as he is  currently prepping the release of a new studio album, due out sometime later sometime this year. As noted, the album will feature guest appearances by David Byrne and Iggy Pop.
