Oasis confirm album release date

Since those pretty unimportant song leaks last month, the buzz around Oasis’ next album has pretty much died down. Well, that was until today.

Appearing on Russell Brand’s Radio 2 program last night, Noel Gallagher revealed that the followup to 2005’s Don’t Believe the Truth will be released this coming September, though he would not reveal the exact date, claiming that the band’s manager had yet to tell the him. While other album details remain sketchy, the band has previously noted it will feature a more experimental sound than their previous works.

Of course, all this comes just a week after drummer #3 Zak Starkey left the band. Oasis has since recruited former Robbie Williams drummer Chris Sharrock as his replacement.
