Led Zeppelin to play Canada?

Led Zeppelin to play Canada?

According to Muchmusic, Led Zeppelin are booked to play four consecutive nights at the Toronto Skydome near the end of August 2008. The report states that an official announcement will be made soon.

Of course, fans should take this with a grain of salt fans. After all, the news is coming from a music channel that consistently plays Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey all day long. Still, regardless of the station’s reputation and the fact that this report is certainly unofficial, any Led Zeppelin reunion news does deserve to be noted.

As you may remember, all this follows rumors that the reluctant Robert Plant may be finally starting to come around to the idea of a world tour. What’s more, his solo tour with Alison Krauss, one of the sticking points holding up a full-fledged reunion, will be coming to an end in July.

Speaking of the great historic bands, starting soon, Consequence of Sound will soon unveil a brand new segment, entitled Icons of Rock. Each week, we will take a look into the past, focusing on musicians, managers, producers, and other rarely mentioned historic personalities who deserve more credit than they receive.  Following each Icons of Rock piece readers will be provided with a recommendation of secondary material: books, articles, albums, films, and various other forms of media.

Stayed tuned four our first piece, which will feature Peter Grant, the famous manager of Zeppelin who helped carry the legendary band into rock history…

  1. The greatest rock band that ever stepped on a stage, sadly ceased to exist on 9-25-1980, the day they lost the finest rock drummer in history. The three surviving members are each such extraordinarily gifted musicians that any reunion with Bonham’s son on drums is well worth the massive interest as evidenced by the BILLION hits on the website for reunion tickets. Short of a joint statement from Page, Plant, and Jones announcing specific concert dates, I would regard any other information on the subject as wishful speculation.

  2. I really doubt it will happen, sure would be strange without bonham
