Okkervil River plan new album
The now Jonathon Meiburg-less Okkervil River have revealed plans for a new studio album. On September 9, the band will release The Stand Ins, their fifth full-length studio effort and followup 2006’s unbelievably awesome The Stage Names, via Jagjaguwar Records.
While little is currently known about The Stand Ins, Pitchfork speculates it could be the disc two of an original Stage Names double album. Considering the natives recently unveiled a new song, entitled “Lost Coastlines,” (check out below) on WOXY Radio, and noted it will bee part of “an appendix release for The Stage Names…to be out later this year,” this speculation seems right.

This is incredible news.
One thing: The Stage Names was released in late 2007, not 2006.
